Gospel living for Secular Franciscans is this: to know the Lord Jesus, to seek his presence in every sphere of life and to share his mission in the Church. Such a life style is achieved through an ongoing change of heart and a life of worship. This gospel life takes on a natural expression through simple living, building community and selfless service and spurs us on to special ways of evangelization: social justice, attitudes towards work, Christian family living, ecology and peacemaking. JPIC Focus:
Reconciliation and Forgiveness in a Divided World
Virtual (Zoom) Discussion Group
Sunday, April 12, 2026
7:00 to 8:30 pm
As Franciscans — originally called Brothers and Sisters of Penance — we are an inherently reconciling people.
Yet the fractures of our world have never felt more deep.
What spiritual tools can help us become reconcilers in our fractured society?
We live in a world scarred by division, resentment, and historical wounds. The Gospel calls us to something radical — to forgive and reconcile, even when it seems impossible.
As followers of Francis, how do we make peace where there is hurt and seek unity without erasing truth?
This is a space for prayerful listening, and open, trusting dialogue rooted in shared experience.
What to expect
A brief Gospel and JPIC framing
Shared reflection rooted in daily life
Respectful listening across differences
A spirit of fraternity and hope
What you do not need
No prework
No prior preparation
No special background
Just come as you are, with your story, your questions,
and your desire to live the Gospel more fully.
